It seems if individual states, in the United States of America, desire to legalize marijuana for medical and medicinal purposes; then the federal government, which is composed of voters of the individual states, has little choice but to change their current position of legal prohibition. And, ultimately change federal legislation in support of those states to better reflect public sentiment.
More and more people are verbalizing support in favor of allowing the medical use of marijuana based study results which confirm marijuana's analgesic benefits. This alone is not enough. The medical community must get behind the issue if terminally ill patients are to reap the rewards of this pain reliever. Aside from being a tool for effective pain management, marijuana has other benefits and uses. Another example of a medical use of marijuana is as an anti-emetic.
An ant-emetic is a drug that is effective against vomiting and nausea. Ant-emetics are typically used to treat motion sickness , side effects of some opioid analgesics, and nausea from chemotherapy. Thus improving the quality of life for those sick or dying, and to relieve pain and suffering. Is this not what medicine is supposed to do? Medicines are supposed to promote health and relieve pain among other uses.

This same report, in smaller trials, suggests 'cannabis might also be useful in respect to seizures, spasticity, and other nervous system disorders.'
Another crucial study was conducted for and published by the New England Journal of Medicine. It reveals similar support for the legalization of medical marijuana.
Is more proof than most believe necessary to support the theory. Once or perhaps twice, might be a fluke. Repeatedly reports from the medical community suggest a growing and 'unanimous support of the facts'. Marijuana has medicinal benefits.
